Beijing Air quality, what is done and what can you do to protect yourself?
The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Beijing has invited Mr. Lauri Myllyvirta, climate and energy campaigner at Greenpeace, to learn more about the Air Quality situation in Beijing.
During this seminar, Greenpeace East Asia Energy Analyst, Lauri Myllyvirta, will map the trends in air pollution levels in China – where is air quality improving, where is it not and why? He will ask why pollution is so bad around Beijing – what are the sources to explain it and the solutions to deal with it? And what are the implications of last years' ambitious action plan, including the biggest factory shutdown in history, for air quality and for energy. Why are we seeing a trend shift yet again this year?
Lauri Myllyvirta works at Greenpeace International to support the organization's coal campaign work in priority countries, with a focus on air pollution issues and analysis of energy and CO2 trends. His research covers China's coal consumption and CO2 trends, sources of air pollution as well as the overcapacity situation in coal-fired power and steel industry.
